This striking piece is a Wallendorf porcelain figurine from around 1970, showing a nude woman gracefully poised atop a rearing horse. The sculpture has a real sense of motion, with the woman’s relaxed but balanced pose contrasting the lively energy of the horse. At about 9 inches tall, 4.5 inches wide, and 10 inches long, it’s big enough to be a focal point on any shelf or mantel but not so large as to dominate a room. It’s in near mint condition, which is no small feat considering it’s over 50 years old now. Pieces like this were usually displayed in the homes of people who loved a mix of elegance and bold flair, and the art deco style gives it a lot of character. Because these figurines weren’t mass-produced in huge numbers and many haven’t survived in such good shape, finding one today in this condition feels pretty special.
