This is a Zsolnay Porcelain Rabbit Figurine from around 1970, a tiny bunny curled around a branch. It stands about 1 inch (2.5 cm) tall, 1 inch wide, and 1 inch long, so it sits neatly on a fingertip or windowsill. The glaze is glossy white with warm brown shading on the ears and back, and the branch has chocolate and mossy tones. The face is hand-painted with neat little eyes and a soft pink nose. Condition is Near Mint, with clean edges and shine, showing the faintest shelf wear. At roughly 56 years old, it’s a vintage miniature and not so easy to find in this tidy state, especially at this petite size.
Zsolnay of Pécs, Hungary, has crafted fine porcelain since 1853, famous for meticulous handwork and distinctive glazes. Their mid-century animal line favored smooth forms, gentle color washes, and expressive poses, made to be affordable art for the home. Look for the five-tower backstamp that marks authentic pieces. Many were exported in the 1950s–70s, yet tiny 1-inch examples are scarcer than the larger figurines. Collectors prize even glaze, crisp painting, and no chips. This little rabbit fits that bill, a sweet slice of Central European design history.
