This is a handblown Bohemia Glass abstract art sculpture from around 1970, in a teardrop, open-center form with ribbons of deep cobalt blue and warm orange floating inside clear crystal. It stands 7 inches tall, 5 inches long, and 2.5 inches wide, and it’s in near mint condition with only the lightest shelf wear and a few tiny air bubbles from the making. The color layering gives a classic sommerso look, and the base is smoothly finished so it sits sturdy. At roughly 55 years old, it’s a true vintage centerpiece, the kind that pops in a sunny window or on a minimalist shelf.
Bohemia Glass was the Czechoslovak export banner that gathered work from renowned north Bohemian factories—Chribska, Zelezny Brod Sklo, Skrdlovice, and others—so many pieces carry only a paper label rather than a signature. In the late 1960s and 1970s they favored bold, organic shapes, heavy crystal, and layered colors made by casing and hot working. Expect a ground, polished base and occasional bubbles that show it was made by hand. These sculptures weren’t produced in huge runs, and clean examples like this are getting harder to find, making it a desirable, genuinely vintage slice of mid‑century style.
