This is a Herend porcelain cachepot in the Chinese Bouquet Raspberry pattern, made around 1980. It’s a bright, clean piece in near‑mint shape, showing the deep raspberry floral sprays on a white basket‑weave ground and a scalloped rim edged in gold. At about 4.5 inches tall and roughly 6 inches across the mouth, the body is close to 4.5 inches in diameter, so it works well as a small planter or catch‑all on a sideboard. The paint is crisp, the gilding is strong, and there are no cracks or chips—just the light signs of a well‑cared‑for vintage item about 45 years old. It presents beautifully on a shelf or dining table.
Herend of Hungary has crafted fine porcelain since 1826, firing each piece multiple times and finishing it by hand with 24‑karat gold. The Chinese Bouquet line—also called Apponyi—was introduced in the 1930s as a simplified take on the older Fleurs des Indes motif, and the Raspberry colorway is among the most collected. Every cachepot is painted by an individual artisan; the underside usually carries the Herend mark and a painter’s or pattern code. Pieces from the late 1970s to 1980s are considered vintage and can be harder to find in near‑mint condition, especially in pairs. This example blends everyday usefulness with true collectible appeal.
