This is a Herend Porcelain cachepot in the Raspberry Chinese Bouquet (Apponyi) pattern, made around 1980, so it’s about 45 years old. The crisp white body is hand‑painted with a deep raspberry floral spray, finished with a gilt rim and ornate golden side handles. It stands 4.5 inches high, about 7 inches wide across the handles, and roughly 5.5 inches across the opening and length, with a 5.5 inch diameter on the bowl. Overall condition is near mint, with bright gold and no chips or cracks, making it a charming planter or tabletop accent.
Herend, founded in Hungary in 1826, is famous for hand‑made, hard‑paste porcelain fired at very high temperatures and finished with 24k gold. The Chinese Bouquet, also called Apponyi, began as a simplified version of the old Fleurs des Indes motif and was named for Count Albert Apponyi in the 1930s. Raspberry, sometimes listed as Apponyi Pink, is among the most collected colors today. Each piece is painted freehand and usually bears the Herend backstamp and a painter’s mark. A 1980 example counts as vintage rather than antique, and while this pattern is still produced, earlier pieces in such clean condition with strong gilding are increasingly scarce.
