This vintage Herend PBR trumpet vase is a sweet little showpiece from 1960. The porcelain is bright white with a flared mouth and tidy pedestal foot, trimmed with fine gold lines that catch the light. On the front, a hand‑painted bouquet centers on a lush pink rose, surrounded by tiny wildflowers in orange, purple, blue, and green. The colors feel cheerful without being loud, and the glaze has that smooth, glassy finish Herend is known for. It’s the kind of vase that works just as well on a nightstand with a few garden stems as it does empty on a shelf. Expect the gentle character that comes with age, especially around the gold, but overall it presents beautifully.
Herend is the celebrated porcelain maker from Hungary, founded in 1826 and long favored by European courts. Every piece is formed and painted by hand, then fired multiple times for that crisp white body and durable surface. PBR stands for Petit Bouquet de Rose, a classic Herend floral pattern featuring a rosy focal bloom with scattered blossoms and leaves. The gold accents are traditionally 24k and applied by brush. Most examples carry the Herend shield backstamp and a pattern code from the painter. Collectors love how PBR mixes easily with other Herend designs like Victoria or Rothschild Bird while still feeling fresh and friendly.
