This 1970 Schaubach Kunst porcelain vase shows off a rich coral red body under a tall white neck, trimmed with a neat gold rim. The front carries a hand-painted floral in white, black, and gold; the contrast is sharp and the gilding still lively. It’s in very good vintage condition with a glossy glaze, no chips or cracks noted, and only faint shelf wear on the base from age. Display it solo as a statement piece, or drop in a few long stems—the narrow mouth and rounded, weighty shape make arranging simple.
Schaubach Kunst was a Thuringian porcelain maker celebrated for elegant modeling and lush glazes. After the war it operated in East Germany and developed close ties with the historic Wallendorf factory, founded in 1764, so some later pieces show both names. The coral red ground with generous gilding is typical of their mid‑century taste for vivid color on fine, resonant porcelain. Collectors look for crisp painting, bright gold, and clean white interiors as signs of quality. Care is easy: mild soap, a soft cloth, and no abrasives on the gilt. These vases blend classic floral themes with a bold modern palette, suiting both traditional and mid‑century rooms beautifully.
