This hand‑painted ring tray by Herend shows the beloved Apponyi, or Chinese Bouquet, pattern in green, highlighted with gold on the rim and cartouches. The glossy white porcelain sets off a lush central blossom with leafy sprays, while a border encircles the well. Made in 1970 and kept in near mint shape, it has vivid color and bright gilding with only subtle signs of handling. It feels refined but practical—perfect on a vanity for rings and earrings, on a desk for paper clips, or by the sink to corral a watch. A charming vintage accent, fresh and elegant.

Herend Porcelain Manufactory, founded in 1826 in Hungary, is famous for fully hand‑painted fine porcelain finished with 24k gold. The Apponyi design dates to 1930, when Count Albert Apponyi asked for a simplified version of Herend’s earlier “Indian Basket” motif; it later became known as Chinese Bouquet. The green colorway is called Apponyi Vert (AV), and remains one of the house signatures. Each piece is painted freehand, then fired multiple times to set the enamels and the gilding. Typical backstamps show the Herend shield and painter’s numbers. Mid‑century examples like this are sought after for their crisp brushwork and classic, easy‑to‑mix style.
