This is a Herend Vintage Apponyi Purpur large dessert plate, Model 519, made in 1970 and kept in near mint condition. It measures 8 inches across and about 1 inch high, with a scalloped edge and raised osier basketweave border. The white hard‑paste porcelain is hand painted in vivid purplish pink, showing a central bouquet and four small rim sprays, then finished with hand‑applied gold accents. The gilding is crisp and the glaze bright, with minimal wear. At roughly 56 years old, it’s a true vintage piece that still feels usable for a small dessert, yet handsome enough for display.

Herend, founded in 1826 in Hungary, is famed for fully hand‑painted porcelain. The Apponyi, also called Chinese Bouquet, was designed in the 1930s for Count Albert Apponyi by simplifying the lush Victoria pattern into one bold blossom with leafy sprays. Purpur is the rich magenta colorway; it appears less often than classic green, so pieces can be a little scarcer. Model 519 uses the elegant scalloped form with an osier rim and real gold trim. Each plate was decorated and kiln‑fired several times, then marked with the Herend shield. At over half a century old, this is everyday‑friendly yet collectible.

This is a Herend Apponyi dessert plate in the Raspberry Chinese Bouquet pattern, shape 515/AP, made in 1980. Measuring 6 inches in diameter and about 1 inch high, it’s a small, elegant plate for cake or fruit. The scalloped rim is edged in real gold, and the white porcelain shows Herend’s crisp basketweave texture with pink floral sprays and a central bouquet. Condition is near mint—no chips, cracks, or noticeable wear to the gilding—so it’s ready to display or use on special occasions. At roughly 46 years old, it qualifies as true vintage and has the refined look collectors expect from Herend.

Herend, the Hungarian porcelain house founded in 1826, is known for hand-painted, kiln-fired pieces finished with 24k gold. The Apponyi, or Chinese Bouquet, pattern is a streamlined take on Herend’s earlier Indian Basket motif, created for Count Albert Apponyi around 1930. Raspberry (sometimes called Apponyi Purple) is among the most loved colorways. Code 515 refers to the dessert size on the Osier basketweave blank. Each plate takes many hours of brushwork, so production is limited. While not ultra-rare, 1980 examples in near mint condition are increasingly hard to find and tend to hold their value over the years.
