This small porcelain trinket dish from Herend shows the Green Chinese Bouquet pattern on a crisp white base, with a leafy blossom painted in rich emerald tones. The scalloped rim is finished with hand-applied gold that adds just enough sparkle. It’s a handy little catchall for rings by the sink, earrings on a nightstand, or paper clips on a desk. The glaze is glossy and clean, and the artwork is sharp, with only light signs of age from gentle use. Made in 1980, it brings an easy vintage feel to everyday routines while still being practical and pretty.

Herend, the Hungarian porcelain house founded in 1826, is known for true hand-painted pieces—no decals—decorated and gilded by skilled artists. The Chinese Bouquet motif, also called Apponyi, grew out of Europe’s 19th‑century love of Asian floral designs and was standardized in the 1930s; the green version is a longtime favorite because it mixes well with almost anything. The gold detailing is typically 24k and kiln-fired for that lasting sheen. Collectors look for the blue Herend shield and the painter’s mark underneath, signs of authenticity and craftsmanship. This line is durable for gentle, everyday use, makes an easy gift, and layers beautifully with plain white or patterned tableware.

This is a luxury jewelry tray from Herend, hand painted in the Apponyi Raspberry pattern. The bright raspberry-pink flowers pop against glossy white porcelain, and the leaf-shaped rim is finished with rich hand-applied gold. Made in 1970, it’s now 56 years old, vintage and edging toward antique status. The piece is in near mint condition, with crisp gilding and clean glaze, a good sign it was displayed more than used. It’s a petite catchall that feels fancy without being fussy—perfect for rings by the sink, bedside odds and ends, or serving a few wrapped sweets when company drops by.

Herend Porcelain of Hungary has been making hand-crafted porcelain since 1826, prized by European courts and collectors for meticulous brushwork and 24-karat gold accents. Apponyi, also called “AP,” is a streamlined take on the older Indian Basket motif, refined for Count Albert Apponyi in the early 20th century. Raspberry is one of the sought-after colorways, produced in smaller numbers than the classic green. Every piece is freehand painted, so tiny variations show the artist’s touch; most carry a Herend shield backstamp and a painter’s mark. Hand wash only, and avoid microwave or dishwasher. Near mint 1970 examples are hard to find.
