This is a Herend Green Chinese Bouquet bud vase in the Apponyi pattern, hand‑painted porcelain from around 1970. It stands 6 inches tall and measures about 3 inches across at its widest, with a 3 inch diameter base, shaped in a graceful teardrop perfect for a single stem. The crisp white body is decorated with rich green blossoms and leaves and finished with delicate gilding at the rim and foot. Condition is Near Mint, showing little to no wear, clean glaze, and sharp color—remarkable for a piece that’s roughly 56 years old. It’s a charming, easy‑to‑place accent that fits on a windowsill, nightstand, or shelf, bringing a bit of classic European polish without feeling fussy.
Herend, founded in Hungary in 1826, is famous for fine, hard‑paste porcelain painted by hand. The Apponyi, also called Chinese Bouquet, is a simplified version of the Indian Basket motif, created for Count Albert Apponyi in the early 20th century. In green it’s coded AV (Apponyi Vert) and trimmed with gold. Each piece is fired multiple times and carries a painter’s touch, so no two are exactly alike. Bud vases from the 1960s–70s aren’t common in Near Mint shape, making this a desirable, vintage example.
