This little Hollohaza calf is a hand painted porcelain figurine in near mint shape. It stands just 1 inch tall, 1 inch wide, and 1.5 inches long, finished in a glossy white glaze with soft gray patches. The pose is lively and curious, with gentle blush on the ears and hooves. For its age the surface is clean and bright, with no chips, cracks, or crazing—only the faint shelf rub you’d expect from careful display. Likely made in the late 1960s or 1970s, it’s roughly 50 years old, a pocket‑size piece that fits in your palm.
Holloháza Porcelain Manufactory in Hungary has produced hard‑paste porcelain since 1777, and its mid‑century animal minis are well loved. These were made in small batches, hand glazed and detailed, so no two are exactly alike. Most carry the Hollóháza Hungary 1777 backstamp with the raven logo, a handy authenticity check. The line blends folk charm with clean, modern shapes, which suits farmhouse, cottage, and Scandinavian rooms alike. Tiny examples in this tidy condition aren’t common, especially at just 1 inch by 1 inch by 1.5 inches, so collectors see them as a sweet, affordable slice of Central European design.
