This is a Herend Apponyi Raspberry vase, also called Purpur Chinese Bouquet. It’s hand painted on crisp white porcelain with a vivid raspberry-pink flower spray and delicate leaves, finished with bright gold on the rim and foot. The body has a classic rounded belly and a gently flared neck that shows off a few stems or looks lovely all on its own. From the photo there are no obvious chips, cracks, or repairs, and the gilding looks strong. A charming, elegant accent for a bedside table, mantel, or entry shelf.
Herend Porcelain Manufactory in Hungary has made hand painted porcelain since 1826. The Chinese Bouquet motif, once called Fleurs des Indes, drew on 18th‑century Asian designs. In the 1930s Count Albert Apponyi asked for a simplified version centered on a single bouquet, and the Apponyi pattern was born. Raspberry, or Purpur, is one of its best‑loved colorways, built up with layers of translucent magenta before the edges are finished in real gold. Each piece is painted freehand by a trained decorator and usually bears the blue Herend backstamp with painter’s marks. Collectors prize the line because it blends easily with traditional or modern rooms and still feels fresh on a table or shelf.
